About the Event

Join us for a virtual fireside chat with 2 amazing local artisans that produces beautiful and unique handcrafts that represents Sarikei and Sarawak. Their products are not just sold locally but also having orders from overseas countries such as Japan, Australia, Scotland and others.

We encourage entrepreneurs / SMEs / aspiring young entrepreneurs of Sarikei to join this session. Get to know more about your fellow Sarikeians entrepreneurial journey.

This virtual coffee webinar will be moderated by Malcolm Wu & Margareth Lita - SMA | Sarikei Innovation Center and joining us are Pn. Cherenga (Artisan - Raga, Timpa, Wallet, Capan) & Pn. Biah (Artisan - Tudung Saji) .

About Pn. Biah

Pn. Biah started her journey as an Artisan since 2018 and specializes in the craft of Tudung Saji. She attended courses organized by Department of Women and Family and also participated in multiple showcases events by Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) in Sarikei. Her products are sold both locally and Internationally.

About Pn. Cherenga

Pn. Cherenga were involved in the industry of handicraft since 2002 and she has been invited multiple times by Sarawak Craft Council to teach in Kampung Lebur, Gedung and Kampung Kerokong, Bau. Her teachings were in the craft of making "Bila Alus" and "Timpa Pisit/Seluk". Pn. Cherenga were chosen by Sarawak Craft Council to participate in various exhibition events such as Pameran Kraftangan Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur and all Sarawak Division such as Pesta Nanas in Sarikei. With the assistance of Sarawak Craft Council, most of her product orders are from Japan and Scotland.

What is Virtual Coffee?

It is an informal dialogue / networking session that is hosted online instead of in-person. Fun fact, we want you to have a cup of coffee (or it can be your favourite drink) with you during this session.
